Hibachi can be an interesting combination of dinner and a show with food set on fire and being tossed in the air. It is fun to watch the chef prepare your food in front of you, but it is also delicious. D.C. has numerous types of cuisine, so of course there are many hibachi restaurants in the area. Here are some of the best hibachi restaurants in the city.

Momiji Restaurant

Located in what can barely be called Chinatown, Momiji Restaurant is a Japanese restaurant with great food. What it lacks in aesthetics, it makes up for with tasty sushi, noodles, drinks and hibachi. On top of the standard chicken, vegetable, beef and shrimp hibachi entrees, it also offers salmon, scallops and lobster, which is great for the seafood lover who wants more than just shrimp as an option. Pop into Momiji for happy hour and stay for the hibachi.

Presentation is a large part of a dinner experience and the mark of a chef that cares about what they are serving. Sumo Japanese Restaurant has amazing presentation of its dishes, perfect for Instagram foodies. The plates of sushi are presented beautifully, and the hibachi is just as eye catching. Part of the reason people go to hibachi restaurants is the bit of theatrics that the chefs use when preparing the meal. And the chefs at Sumo try to make it as entertaining as possible. With delicious food and a great show, you shouldn’t be disappointed.
