In D.C., the nation’s capitol, there is a lot more activity than just fireworks on the 4th of July. Lots of bars and restaurants have food and drink specials, as well as great parties for you to join. Read below for a list of five great 4th of July party options in the District. Each one is sure to make your Independence Day all the more fun, especially since the 4th is on a Friday this year.

Masa 14 will be having a fabulous all-day 4th of July party, which will start with a bottomless Champagne brunch during the day for $35. Unlimited small plates are also included in the deal along with $5 margaritas. Try tasty items such as the mushroom frittata, house-made granola, breakfast tacos and sweet plantains. In the evening, the party will move to the rooftop, where there will be a DJ spinning tunes until 2 a.m. There will be food and drink specials, including a three different kinds of margaritas to keep you hydrated while you get groove on.

Head to El Centro D.F. to partake in its “Freedom Happy Hour” on July 4th, which will begin on the rooftop at 5 p.m. Be sure to sample the $5 tri-colored margarita, offered only on Independence Day. The colorful beverage will undoubtedly put you in a celebratory mood. There will also be several great Mexican dishes for you to enjoy, such as guacamole and nachos. At 10 p.m., a DJ will take the party to a new level. Remember to get there early, as this party is bound to get crowded!

Spirit Cruises is offering a fabulous 4th of July party option. For $169, guests will enjoy open bar, as well as a complete dinner buffet, music and dancing and an opportunity to see the fireworks while aboard the cruise. The dinner buffet will include everything from a salad station to pasta, side dishes, desserts and more. The boat ride will be four hours long, and guests must be at least 21 years old.
