The best way to warm up this winter is not only to have a boozy cocktail, but to drink that cocktail while you are sitting next to a roaring fire. Here is a list of five of the best bars in the D.C. that feature a lovely fireplace. Winter may seem long, but when you head to one of these spots, the cold weather suddenly doesn’t seem so bad!

Iron Gate not only has a fireplace, but it has an outdoor fireplace where you can warm up and treat yourself to one of its craft cocktails. Iron Gate’s wisteria draped winter patio is adorned with fire pits, heaters and new lounge furniture, perfect for cozying up fireside. Cocktails available on the patio include the bourbon diversion, made with bourbon, absinthe, crème de cacao and fernet branca, the hot doctrine, which is a chamomile tea drink made with St. Germain, honey liqueur and lemon, and the rye response, a warm apple cider drink that combines rye, cappelletti and sweet vermouth.
