Sometimes, when you’re looking for a night out on the town, you’re not in the mood for a fancy dinner and dancing. The District has plenty of options for an elegant evening, but it also has some great local bars, where you can hang out after work, catch the game or just chill with some friends on a Saturday. This gorgeous Irish bar, near the Gallery Place Metro and the Verizon Center, serves up some delicious food in a fun atmosphere that takes you right back to the old country. The shepherd’s pie and Irish potato leek soup are outstanding. The Irish Channel also has great burgers. The appetizers are definitely sized for sharing if you’re just looking for something to munch on. The Guinness is poured right, and the service is top notch. Stoney’s also has plenty of TVs to catch the game. The Super Grilled Cheese is legendary for a good reason.
