Dietitian on ‘Biggest Loser’ Weight Loss: Instead, Go Slow and Aim for Your Body’s ‘Sweet Spot’

Someone who wants or needs to lose weight might watch a season of a show like NBC’s The Biggest Loser, where it’s not uncommon for a contestant to drop 50 percent or more of their body weight during filming, and be inspired.

But Rebecca Scritchfield, a D.C.-based dietitian and founder of Capitol Nutrition Group, says starvation and extreme exercise is not the way to get lasting results.
