Taiwan Pledges $1M to Help Build Eisenhower Memorial in D.C.

Taiwan is pledging $1 million to help build a memorial honoring President Dwight D. Eisenhower in Washington as the project organizers begin a fundraising campaign to complete the monument.

Brother Of Chinese Activist Who Fled To US Beaten

The oldest brother of a Chinese activist who fled house arrest and later settled in the U.S. said he was beaten up Thursday by unidentified men, part of an uptick in harassment possibly linked to the activist’s plans to visit Taiwan.
