The widening gap between the wealthiest Americans and everyone else has been matched by a slowdown in state tax revenue, according to a report being released Monday by Standard & Poor’s.
U.S. home prices jumped 10.9 percent in March compared with a year ago, the most since April 2006.
US home prices rose in most major cities in October compared with a year ago, pushed up by rising sales and a decline in the supply of available homes. Higher prices show the housing market is improving even as it moves into the fall and winter, when sales traditionally slow.
