Man Sentenced for 2,600 Aluminum Carts

A man convicted of stealing more than 2,600 aluminum carts from the Postal Service and selling them for scrap has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Post Office Seeks 3-Cent Stamp Increase

The financially strapped Postal Service is asking for a 3-cent increase in the price of a first class stamp, raising it to 49 cents. The chairman of the postal Board of Governors, Mickey Barnett, warned the agency is in a “precarious financial condition.”
