Werth Every Penny: Nats Avoid Elimination in Dramatic Fashion

Werth led off the bottom of the ninth inning by driving Lance Lynn’s 13th pitch into the left-field stands to give the Nationals a 2-1 victory over the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals and force a Game 5 in their NL division series.

Nationals Win Game 1 of NLDS, Beat Cardinals 3-2

The Nationals escaped a bases-loaded jam in the seventh inning, Tyler Moore blooped a two-out, two-run single in the eighth and Washington beat the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals 3-2 Sunday in an NL playoff opener.

Nationals Prepare For Cards In Chilly St. Louis

The Washington Nationals arrived this afternoon, just hours after they watched the one game playoff with the St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves, and they were greeted with a harsh reality of fall from mother nature as they disembarked from the plane.
