Elfin: A Hard Goodbye For Hometown Hero Halpern

Coming off being scratched for the first 12 of the Capitals’ 14 playoff games in their 2012 playoff run, Jeff Halpern now puts his hometown in the rear-view again. The 11-year veteran and Potomac, Maryland native was told by general manager George McPhee that he will not be re-signed before the start of Free Agency July 1.
