Georgetown’s (24-9) season came to an end against NC State in the third round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday in Columbus, Ohio. Hollis Thompson scored a season high 23 points but it wasn’t enough for the Hoyas.
Hoyas Past is Present as Georgetown Looks to Advance to Sweet 16
Georgetown (24-8) faces North Carolina State (23-12) on Sunday in Columbus for a spot in the Sweet 16. Seniors Henry Sims and Jason Clark will once again be asked to lead the Hoyas.
Hoyas Advance Past Belmont 74-59
Georgetown (24-8) defeated Belmont 74-59 in the second round of the 2012 NCAA tournament behind seniors Jason Clark and Henry Sims. It was the Hoyas first tournament win since 2008 and will now face NC State on Sunday in Columbus, OH.
Hoyas Fall in Double Overtime to Cincinnati
Georgetown (23-8) lost to Cincinnati 72-70 in double overtime in the Big East quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon at Madison Square Garden. Henry Sims led the way for the Hoyas with his second consecutive double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds.
No. 11 Hoyas Drop Regular Season Finale
No. 11 Georgetown dropped its final game of the season to No. 8 Marquette 83-79. The loss means the Hoyas will have just a single-bye in next week’s Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden.

No. 11 Georgetown used suffocating defense to smother No. 20 Notre Dame 59-41 on Senior Night at the Verizon Center. Greg Whittington led all scorers with 15 points.
Porter Starts, Leads No. 9 Hoyas Over Villanova
Otto Porter responded with a career-high 15 points in his first Verizon Center start as Georgetown wore down VIllanova in a 67-46 win on Saturday afternoon. Jason Clark also hit for 15 points and was one of five Hoyas with six rebounds.
Hoyas Get Defensive, Pummel Providence
Georgetown (20-5, 10-4) held Providence to just 25 percent shooting in a 63-53 win over the Friars. Hollis Thompson led the Hoyas with 13 points and ten rebounds.
No. 12 Georgetown Sweeps St. John’s
Greg Whittington (12 points) came off the bench to lead No. 12 Georgetown to a 71-61 over rivals St. John’s at the Verizon Center on Sunday afternoon.
