Bill Restricting Gay Adoption In Virginia Passes; Gov. McDonnell Willing To Sign

Legislation that would allow private adoption agencies to deny placements that conflict with their religious or moral beliefs, including opposition to homosexuality, sailed through the Virginia House of Delegates without debate Friday.

Va. House Set To Vote On Gay Adoption Bill

Currently there are no laws that allow private adoption agencies to discriminate based on gender, religion, sexual orientation or other distinguishing factors, but that could change in Virginia if a new bill passes as law.
