Ovechkin’s 10th Goal Lifts Caps Over Oilers

Alex Ovechkin scored his NHL-leading 10th goal and added an assist for the Washington Capitals, who beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-1 on Thursday night for their third straight win.

Caps Snap 3-Game Losing Streak Against Oilers 4-2

Joel Ward, Alex Ovechkin and Troy Brouwer scored goals in less than four minutes of the second period, and the Washington Capitals snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night.

The Washington Capitals were riding a team-record 7-game winning streak to start the season into Edmonton to face the Oilers. The Caps, however, could not make it eight in a row as the team ran into a buzzsaw by the name of Nikolai Khabibulan as they fell 2-1.
