After taking a vicious skate to the face, Capitals’ Brooks Orpik just goes back to living his life.
Prior to signing with the Capitals, Brooks Orpik says he never really envisioned playing anywhere besides Pittsburgh, but now that he’s in D.C., he’s noticed there’s “a lot of similarities to our group in Pittsburgh.”
The Washington Capitals have signed 33-year-old longtime Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik to a five-year, $27.5 million contract Tuesday afternoon, the team announced a short time ago.
“I thought some guys worked hard and played a good game,” Islanders coach Jack Capuano said. “Again, with our club we need all 20 guys going, and we didn’t have all 20.”
