A bill that would weaken state oversight of the state’s two largest electric utilities’ rates is moving through the General Assembly.

The number of Virginia fatalities related to the weekend’s severe storms has climbed to 11, Gov. Bob McDonnel”s office said Tuesday.
More than 276,000 electricity customers across Virginia have no service as crews work to repair power lines and equipment damaged by severe storms. Dominion Power is championing the slogan: “Our boots don’t come off until your lights are back on.”
