People in the District of Columbia’s Anacostia neighborhood are confused and upset over two storefronts that have been filled with trash and debris for an art installation.
Twenty years ago, Jim Foster says, the Anacostia Watershed Society was busy trying to get tires out of the river. Now that the big stuff is more or less gone, and dumping has been made a felony, AWS’s focus is on the smaller stuff.
There was a fire at a local high school and the D.C. Fire Department says one of its own was hurt combating the flames.
A local cab company has been ordered to shut it’s doors, permanently after conducting untrustworthy business practices. This spells bad news for all other D.C. taxi companies in the near future.
