When WNEW launched in January, 2012 Cameron Thompson made the leap from Canada to Washington, D.C.

He was born in La Jolla, California and grew up in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He went to school for Radio Broadcasting in Vancouver and did his internship with WCBS-880 AM in New York City in 2009.

Thompson served as a reporter and anchor for CHNL in Kamloops, BC, Canada prior to joining the WNEW team.

Being the resident Canadian at the station carries extra duties for Cameron. He’s had to work overtime to learn the differences between the NFL and CFL, translating kilometers to miles and Celsius to Fahrenheit, as well as how to spell certain words without “u.”
