Joe Girardi Won’t Return as Yankees Manager

There were no obvious replacement candidates available when the Nationals made the decision to part with Dusty Baker.

Today, six days later, the New York Yankees announced that Joe Girardi will not return as manager in 2018, a stunning decision, even as Girardi — like Baker — had an expiring contract.

53-year-old Girardi — with a 910-710 (.562) combined record — managed the Yankees for 10 seasons, winning a World Series in 2009.

Grant Paulsen and Danny Rouhier reacted to the news live on 106.7 The Fan: “Danny, do you believe in miracles?”
