WATCH: Steve Scalise Throws Out 1st Pitch

WASHINGTON — This isn’t about politics. Or even sports. This is just awesome.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) threw out the first pitch ahead of Game 1 of the Nationals-Cubs NLDS Friday night, and it was electric.

Scalise was of course wounded in a shooting at a Congressional Baseball Game practice back in June, and he only recently made it back to work.

Despite the overwhelmingly Democrat population Washington hosts, the reaction from the crowd was largely positive for the Republican leader.

Finally, something technically political that everybody can appreciate.
