WASHINGTON — At a time in which Puerto Rico is facing complete devastation, the president is taking to Twitter to criticize the mayor of Puerto Rico’s capital city.
San Juan was ravaged by Hurricane Maria nearly two weeks ago, along with much of the Caribbean, and millions of Americans remain in dire circumstances. Carmen Yulin Cruz, the mayor of San Juan, has publicly pleaded for all the help she can get for her people, constantly uttering the heart-wrenching words at every opportunity: “We are dying.”
President Donald Trump, however, had the following comments to make Saturday morning.
This is not going over well, as one might expect. Cruz has been incredibly active in the community since the storm hit, doing everything in her power to assist the dying people of San Juan.
The president opted against giving her credit for her work and instead issued a personal attack on her during a time of crisis.
