WASHINGTON — The opening weekend of the NFL playoffs didn’t live up to the very little hype it originally generated, as it was one of the least competitive weekends in recent history.
The closest of the four games was the Houston Texans’ 27-14 victory over the Oakland Raiders, and each of the other three games were decided by at least 18 points. The Green Bay Packers’ 25-point win over the New York Giants was the most surprising outcome of Wild Card weekend, as it was expected to be the most entertaining, and possibly closest, of the four games.
That contest remained interesting for the first half, but Aaron Rodgers and the Packers ran away with it in the second half. The most drama to come out of that affair was a postgame incident featuring controversial receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Per several reports, Beckham, who dropped three passes in the loss, took his frustration out on a wall near the visiting team’s locker room.
Not surprisingly, the internet had plenty of fun with Beckham’s latest outburst.
No worries, Odell. The next seven months with very little else to talk about will surely fly by.
