WASHINGTON — As D.C. sports fans learned on Saturday, Washington Redskins tight end phenom Jordan Reed (concussion) will not be suiting up for the team’s Week 6 contest vs. the Philadelphia Eagles.
He will be joined on the game day inactives list by impact rookies Josh Doctson (Achilles’) and Su’a Cravens (concussion), forcing the team to game plan without an extra playmaker on offense and defense.
The rest of the game day inactives are healthy scratches, the product of a numbers game:
The good news for D.C. sports fans is that Bashaud Breeland (ankle) is likely to return to action this week after missing each of the last two weeks. He was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but managed to practice fully on Friday and was listed as questionable.
Defensive back Dashaun Phillips (hamstring) also returns to the lineup this week despite his Questionable designation, and not practicing fully.
Other players who appeared on the injury report this week but will be in the lineup on Sunday: Trent Williams (knee), Josh Norman (wrist), Trent Murphy (shoulder), Ryan Kerrigan (elbow), Mason Foster (toe) and Chris Baker (foot/wrist).
