It’s been a rough start to the year for the Redskins’ defense, but on Sunday in a crucial 16-10 win on the road against Baltimore Ravens the much maligned unit stepped up and made big plays when it counted most.
The Redskins kept the Ravens off of the board in the second half and after forcing a Ravens punt in the fourth quarter, at least on of the ‘Skins d-men couldn’t contain his excitement any longer.
6 foot 2 inch, 320-pound defensive lineman Chris Baker found his position coach Robb Akey and went up for the chest bump to celebrate another big defensive stop.
Predictably, it didn’t end well for Akey, who was flattened by Baker and hit the turf hard after the celebration.
If being destroyed on national TV by a 300-plus pound lineman weren’t bad enough for Akey, his own son took to Twitter and added insult to injury.
But hey, all is well that ends well and not only did the Redskins get the win, but Akey and Baker hugged it out in the locker room after the game ended.
Bryan Altman is, for some reason, an unabashed fan of the Rangers, Jets and Mets. If he absolutely had to pick a basketball team it would be the Knicks, but he’d gladly trade them for a championship for any of his other three teams.
