WASHINGTON — Bryce Harper will bat second in the Nationals lineup for Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Dodgers.

Harper has hit second in the order five times all season, and only four times in the starting lineup.

Nationals NLDS Roster vs. Dodgers

That’s the lone surprise of Friday’s lineup, although it’s noteworthy that rookie catcher Pedro Severino will play over veteran Jose Lobaton. Right-handed pitcher Max Scherzer will start for the Nationals against Dodgers lefty ace Clayton Kershaw.

Here’s how the lineup shapes up in terms of handedness:

Bryce Harper (left)

Jayson Werth (right)

Daniel Murphy (left)

Anthony Rendon (right)

Ryan Zimmerman (right)

Danny Espinosa (switch)

Pedro Severino (right)

Max Scherzer (right)

The Dodgers lineup is heavily left-leaning, featuring only one true right-handed hitter (Justin Turner), one switch-hitter (Yasmani Grandal) and lefties through the rest of it.
