WASHINGTON — With 81 home games in an MLB season, the Nationals should host at least 81 presidents’ races.
But with extra-inning games adding a few extra races to the docket, Washington ended up playing host to 92 races in 2016. The final tally, displayed on the stadium screen Sunday as the Nationals finished off a 95-win season, shows Teddy (Theodore Roosevelt) won the season with 22 wins.
Abe (Abraham Lincoln) came in second, with 19, while George (George Washington) came in third. Herbie (Herbert Hoover) finished a distant last, with just nine wins on the season.
