UPDATE: Kids Admit to Lying About Clown Sightings in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Reports of people dressed as clowns in Annapolis has been dispelled after kids admitted making up the story.

Police initially reported Monday night that a few children reported seeing someone or possibly more, dressed in clown costumes with face paint in Annapolis.

The children reported incidents that occurred as far back as Thursday in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive, Bens Drive near Victor Parkway, and the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue.

There have been similar reports made in other states.
