SUITLAND, Md. — A man was struck by a train and killed, prompting the closure of a stretch of the Green Line for hours, Metro says.
Metro Transit Police tweeted Wednesday that a train hit a man between the Naylor Road and Suitland stations and he later died. No passengers were aboard the train.
Police say it’s not clear why the man was on the tracks.
Green line service is suspended between the Branch Avenue and Southern Avenue stations. Metro Transit Police say the closure is expected to last several hours. Metro says bus service is available, but riders should expect delays.
