Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins loves the Spurs, whether they’re from San Antonio or Tottenham.

A few weeks back, Cousins gained national attention by saying his dream is for the Redskins to be as boring as the San Antonio Spurs.

“Be super boring,” he said, “and maybe people at the end of the season go, ‘Wow – they really had a good year and no one really talked about it.'”

That somehow drew criticism from several ESPN pundits, because of course it did.

On Thursday, the Redskins’ official Twitter account shared some news, that the San Antonio Spurs had given Cousins a special gift: a personalized Spurs jersey with his own last name on the back.

Now, you might imagine if any local professional team were to take exception to something like this, it might be the local basketball team. And you’d be right. The Wizards weren’t feeling Cousins’ new jersey.
