Training camp is well underway for the Redskins, so the league has gotten a glimpse at how cornerback Josh Norman is fitting in with his new team.
The Redskins’ official Twitter account hasn’t done Norman any favors, though, since he was rated the NFL’s No. 1 corner overall in Madden NFL ’17.
Actually, they’ve appeared to do the opposite, showing Norman getting torched not once, but twice in practice, by top Redskins receivers DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon.
That’s caused Arizona Cardinals corner Patrick Peterson, the league’s third highest-paid corner in terms of average annual value (Norman is No. 1 in that, too), to speak up.
Peterson appeared personally offended by Madden’s ratings, as exemplified by him arguing with random fans on Twitter about his own skill set.
Peterson would continue to engage Twitter trolls, but this is about Norman. Anyhow, the version of the video in which Norman gets burnt by Garcon seems to have been shortened.

And here’s Norman’s response to Peterson:
Between Peterson, and Odell Beckham, Jr. keeping Norman’s name in his mouth, there’s no one, perhaps, more ready for actual games to begin than Norman.
Norman doesn’t seem to be bothered by the added attention.
“When you No. 1 at anything, big guy, people always try and bring you down to their level,” Norman replied on Twitter. “Just got to maintain who you are and continue to grind!”
No pressure, no diamonds.
