WASHINGTON — Washington Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson has made a career of skipping offseason workouts and showing up for the season ready to go. If he runs and catches like he pitches, the Redskins have nothing to worry about in 2016.
Jackson spent one of his last days before Training Camp opens in Richmond, at Nationals Park as a guest of the team. Sporting a red Nats’ Jackson jersey, DeSean hobnobbed with fans before heading out in the heat:
When the time came for Jackson’s ceremonial first pitch, he marched right past the customary spot in front of the mound, taking his spot at the top of the bump. Staring in for the imaginary sign, Jackson kicked, wound and fired a strike to the waiting glove of Clint Robinson:
That’s a good pitch from any distance, and Jackson can cross that off his list before returning to the gridiron next week.
