Trea Turner’s Blinding Speed Cannot Be Contained

WASHINGTON — Three days, three games, three amazing displays of speed.

Trea Turner hit triples in back-to-back games Tuesday and Wednesday, topping 22 miles per hour on each of them, then he stole home after the latter triple.

Thursday brought yet another feat of the feet for the 23-year-old speedster.

Leading off for the Nationals, Turner smacked a hard, but routine, grounder to shortstop in the bottom of the first inning. Somehow, Turner beat out the throw for a single.

Turner then advanced to second on a single by Michael A. Taylor, then the Nationals orchestrated a double steal, putting Turner on third.

Bryce Harper’s sacrifice fly then scored Turner for the Nationals’ first run.
