WASHINGTON — Redskins corner Josh Norman mostly passed on an opportunity to respond to Giants receiver Odell Beckham, Jr.
During a Facebook Live chat with Business Insider Thursday, Norman was asked for his response to Beckham’s claim in GQ Magazine that, without Beckham, Norman would be an irrelevant figure.
“If I wasn’t playing him twice a year, maybe people wouldn’t bring it up as much,” Beckham said. “But now it’ll be a lot more media attention for him, attention that I don’t really look for, attention that I don’t need. The reason that he’s become so relevant is because of me.”
Here’s how Norman chose to respond: “I don’t even know how you respond to that other than laugh. I don’t know what you get out of that. But, I mean, I don’t know man. There’s a time when people who honor themselves will fall short, so when that day comes, we’ll just see.”
Norman also Retweeted a fan commenting on Beckham the night before.
Regardless of what either Pro Bowler says or doesn’t say, with Norman now in the NFC East, they will square off twice a year on the football field, the thought of which has promoted a heightened sense of rivalry among those anticipating the battles.
By next fall, perhaps, we will find out who is Taylor Swift and who is Kanye.
