WASHINGTON — The best player on the Redskins is also one of their newest, according to the NFL’s rankings.
In the league’s Top 100 Players of 2016 countdown, recently-signed cornerback Josh Norman was revealed at No. 11.
Norman, who signed a $75 million deal with the Redskins in April, immediately jumped to the top of a cornerback depth chart that needed bolstering, and previous No. 1 corner Chris Culliver was quickly released. Norman teams with Bashaud Breeland to form one of the league’s most imposing one-two punches in the secondary.
LaDainian Tomlinson, however, was not overly impressed. Though he did call Norman the best cornerback in the league in 2015, the former star running back doesn’t believe today’s NFL features any “shutdown corners,” something Norman predictably disputed.
