WASHINGTON — Before Washington’s 34-23 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, Robert Griffin III was seen on the sideline hugging a man and woman wearing customized Griffin Cowboys jerseys.

According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the man wearing the Griffin/Cowboys jersey is Griffin’s uncle, but according to Griffin after the game, that’s inaccurate. Whoever the guy is, the image inspired former Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth to crawl out of the woodwork.

Redskins fans were quick to respond to Haynesworth, who played two seasons in Washington after signing a seven-year, $100 million deal with the Redskins in 2009.

Haynesworth — undeterred — seems to believe his point is still valid.

Griffin, for his part, declared after the game the man wearing the jersey was not, in fact, his uncle.
