Man Accused of Interfering With Firefighters During Riot

BALTIMORE — A federal grand jury has indicted a man accused of interfering with firefighters during the Baltimore riots earlier this year.

Officals say Gregory Lee Butler Jr., also known as Greg Baly, is charged with obstructing firefighters during a civil disorder and for aiding and abetting arson. He faces up to 25 years in prison.

An indictment against Butler was unsealed late Thursday, and an initial court appearance is set for Monday.

Butler is accused of twice puncturing a fire hose as firefighters were battling an arson blaze at a CVS drug store.

Federal prosecutors have charged three others for arson-related crimes during the April riots after a black man died in police custody.

Raymon Carter, who pleaded guilty to setting the CVS fire, was sentenced to four years in prison.
