WASHINGTON — A body and human remains have been found in two different locations in D.C. Wednesday, police say.
A passerby discovered a man’s body in the Tidal Basin near the Jefferson Memorial around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Aquita Brown tells WNEW authorities responded to the scene and recovered the body, which was taken to the medical examiner’s office.
Brown says police have not determined the cause of death and are investigating.
Later on Wednesday, human remains were found in the Potomac River near 4900 Canal Road NW.
Brown says police are unsure if the remains are related to the man found dead in the Tidal Basin.
The two locations are approximately 5 miles away from each other.
This is a developing story.
