Police Release Video of Suspect in Sexual Assault of 12-Year-Old Girl

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County Police have released surveillance video of a suspect wanted for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in her apartment building Wednesday morning in Forestville.

Officers were called to the 2100 block of Brooks Drive around 7:05 a.m. The victim told the officers she had just been sexually assaulted in a hallway.

Preliminary investigation reveals the suspect followed the girl onto an elevator in the building. When the girl got off the elevator, police say the suspect forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. He then ran away.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 black male, 17- to 22-years-old with shoulder-length dreadlocks and a tattoo on his left forearm. He wore a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a red baseball cap.

Detectives plan to canvass the area Thursdsay evening.
