GERMANTOWN, Md. (WNEW/AP) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train shortly after 1:30 a.m. near the Germantown MARC station.
On Tuesday, officials identified the pedestrian as 20-year-old William Alexander Buendia Rodriguez, of Germantown. Police say no foul play is suspected.
For reasons still under investigation, Rodriguez had been in the area of the tracks when he was struck by a train. He succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
Trains on MARC’s Brunswick line were severely delayed Friday after being held for the police activity.
The death caused 30- to 80-minute delays on Maryland Area Regional Commuter trains. The investigation is ongoing.
