BALTIMORE, Md. (WNEW) — Likenesses of Baltimore sports legends like Cal Ripken, Earl Weaver and Johnny Unitas already grace the city’s baseball and football stadiums, and on Thursday the first statue of a Baltimore Raven joined them.
On Thursday, an unveiling ceremony for a Ray Lewis statue was held on the north side of M&T Bank Stadium.
Lewis, the two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year who was selected for 13 Pro Bowls, joined owner Steve Bisciotti, team president Dick Cass and general manager/executive vice president Ozzie Newsome at the ceremony.
A number of Lewis’ teammates, family and friends were also part of the celebration.
