RIVERDALE, Md. — Prince George’s County Police say a woman was killed and her 3-year-old daughter was injured when they were hit by a car trying to cross a road in Riverdale.
It happened about 4:20 p.m. Monday on Riverdale Road. Police say 31-year-old Thelma Fernandez Flores of Riverdale and her daughter were walking in a crosswalk across the road when they were hit by a vehicle.
Officers say Fernandez Flores was pronounced dead at the scene; her daughter was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition.
Police say the driver remained on the scene. The accident is under investigation.
