Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Silver Spring Hit and Run

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — An adult was seriously injured in a hit and run incident Wednesday night in Silver Spring.

The adult was struck by a black 4-door Honda near the intersection of Piney Branch Road and Arliss Street around 9:15 p.m., according to police.

Authorities say the impact of the collision likely caused significant windshield and front-end damage to the vehicle. Two people were traveling inside the vehicle when the person was struck, police say.

The Honda was last scene fleeing towards Garland Street in the direction of Takoma Park.

The pedestrian’s injuries are not considered life threatening. They were taken to Washington Adventist Hospital for treatment.
