EDGEWATER, Md. — A 17-year-old is facing child pornography charges after police say he posted nude photos of his fellow Anne Arundel County high school students on Instagram.
Police announced Saturday that the Edgewater boy was charged last month as a juvenile with distribution and possession of child pornography. The investigation continued into August, but police did not identify or charge any other suspects.
Police say the images depicted mainly underage girls posing nude or engaged in sexual activity. Police say many of the photos were selfies or had been taken consensually. Each posting on Instagram referenced a different high school in Anne Arundel.
After the pictures were traced to the 17-year-old, police say he admitted posting the photos online after they were sent to him by other students.
