When Does School Start in D.C., Maryland and Virginia? The 2014 Calendar

LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — It’s almost that time again!

Students soon will be heading back to school. And while you’re out doing last minute shopping for clothes and school supplies or making sure all that summer reading and homework are done, make sure you take a moment to check out some of these important back to school start dates in your area.

District of Columbia:

D.C. Public Schools – Aug. 25

Maryland:

Anne Arundel County – Aug. 25 for grades 1-6 and 9; Aug. 26 for grades 7-8, 10-12; Sept. 2 for all kindergarten and full-day prekindergarten; Sept. 3 for half-day prekindergarten
Baltimore City – Aug. 25
Baltimore County – Aug. 27
Charles County – Aug. 25
Frederick County – Aug. 25
Howard County – Aug. 25
Montgomery County – Aug. 25
Prince George’s County – Aug. 26

Virginia:

Alexandria City – Sept. 2
Arlington County – Sept. 2
Fairfax County – Sept. 2
Falls Church City – Sept. 2
Loudoun County – Sept. 2
Manassas City – Sept. 2
Prince William County – Sept. 2
