WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – Rep. Tom Marino, R-Pa., said that he’s “a street fighter” and not scared of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Marino was appearing on “Fox & Friends” when he made the comments Monday, which are coming after an incident that occurred Friday night during a House debate over immigration.

Marino, a Republican from Pennsylvania, criticized Pelosi’s time as House speaker. Pelosi then charged across the House floor trying to rebut his comments against her. Marino feels that she broke protocol by doing so.

“There are some people in Congress that think they are royalty,” Marino said on “Fox & Friends”. “I’m not afraid to speak up. I’m a street fighter. And I’m going to stand up and fight for my constituents.”

The congressman said he will not apologize to her for his comments because he acted like a “gentleman.”

“I’m a former prosecutor,” he said on “Fox & Friends”. “I was a state prosecutor and U.S. attorney. I’ve been threatened by drug dealers and organized crime and murderers. This was a walk in the park. I’m not going to put up with this.”
