Police arrested 23-year-old Jeremiah J. Bedwell and 40-year-old George W. Anderson, Jr., both of North East, Md.
Bedwell is charged with possession of a large amount of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute narcotics, possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, and possession of a rifle with a felony conviction.
Anderson is charged with possession of a large amount of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute narcotics, and possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime.
Police say they have been conducting an investigation into the alleged sale of drugs from the two mens’ residence for a couple of months. Troopers recovered 17 firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and 319 baggies of heroin.
Much of the recovered heroin was packaged in baggies, a common method to package it for sale. Investigators recovered four semi-automatic pistols, eight rifles and five shotguns. None of the firearms were registered to Bedwell or Anderson, Jr., and Bedwell is prohibited by Md. law from being in possession of any firearms due to previous criminal convictions.
