RICHMOND, Va. (CBS DC) – A pregnant mother of four died after she was stung by wasps, reports WTVR-TV.
Sarah Marie Schulzetenberg Harkins, 32, was working in her back yardwhen she disturbed the wasps’ nest, said her husband Eric. Her face swelled from allergic reactions to the stings.
Harkins died at the hospital when an aneurysm in her brain burst, said her husband. She was 21 weeks pregnant with the couple’s 5th child, reports the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star
The unborn child did not survive.
Friends, family and strangers have donated more than $100,000 to two funds set-up to assist her husband and four children, seven-year-old Liam, five-year-old Analee, three-year-old Jude and one-year-old Mary Faustina. Mary was born with Down Syndrome.
