BALTIMORE (WNEW/AP) — A triple shooting in the 3600 block of Old York Road in Baltimore Friday has left a 3-year-old girl dead.
The girl is identified as McKenzie Elliott. She succumbed to her injuries hours later at a local hospital.
Baltimore police are seeking witnesses as they investigate the fatal drive-by shooting.
Police and city leaders canvassed the neighborhood Saturday along Old York Road with hopes that someone with information would come forward after the shooting.
Police say they have a person of interest in custody and have confiscated a vehicle in the case.
A 21-year-old woman also was injured in the shooting. Her injuries are not life-threatening.
A third individual who was shot is also being treated at an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Elliott was shot as she stood on the porch of the house next to hers. It happened when a car pulled up and began shooting at a group of people.
Someone in the group shot back. Police say a stray bullet apparently hit the child.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.
