WASHINGTON (WNEW) — The Northeast D.C. Streetcars are still a few months from service, but visitors along the Benning Road and H Street tracks were given a free human-powered ride over the weekend.

Joe Brophy is the general manager of National Pedicabs running “Stroll and Roll,” giving free H Street rides promoting the new streetcar line.

“Most of what we’re doing here is just promoting sort of a fun way of getting around back and forth,” Brophy says.

The ride highlights seven brand new businesses, like “Art by the Glass,” where visitors can have a glass of wine while learning to paint.
