LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — The remains of a Baltimore County woman missing since Thursday have been found in her hometown of North Point.
Dorothy Iris Grubb, 60, was reported missing Saturday evening. Her adult daughter called police to say that she had not seen her mother since Thursday evening and was concerned for her welfare because of a history of domestic violence with her boyfriend, 53-year-old Clyde Campbell.
Campbell was arrested on an open warrant for an unrelated weapons violation Monday morning. He was being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $250,000 bail, but Baltimore County Police say they charged him with first degree murder Wednesday evening. He is now being held without bail.
Police found Grubb’s body along Peninsula Expressway Tuesday night. Because of its poor condition, police expected the identification to take several days, but it was made more quickly than expected. Police confirmed that the remains belonged to Grubb Wednesday afternoon. The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause and manner of death.
