LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — People living on a quiet street in Gaithersburg are still in shock after a woman was found dead inside of a home on Hallmark Court.

Montgomery County Police responded to the 18300 block of Hallmark Court around 10:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious situation.

A 47-year-old woman was found dead inside the home and police are calling it a domestic-related homicide.

A man believed to be her husband was taken into custody after speaking with the pastor at his church who then contacted authorities. A short time later, the man himself called police.

Capt. Paul Starks with Montgomery County Police says officers had been called to the home at least one other time in the past year for a domestic incident, but said further updates weren’t likely until sometime Monday.

Preliminarily, detectives are investigating this suspicious death as a homicide.

The investigation is ongoing. Details will be updated as information becomes available.
